GC³ Dust control products are used reduce coal and other materials from dusting during handling operations and storage. Power plants are required to comply with air and water quality regulations, as well as ensuring that employees and the community are not adversely affected by airborne dust. In addition to reducing fugitive dust emissions, our foams and low moisture products can more than pay for themselves in reducing the energy losses due to traditional wetting operations. NOx reduction
NOx, or nitrogen oxides, are reactive gases that are formed during high temperature combustion.
Provisions of the 1990 Clean Air Actmandate the reduction of NOx emissions.
The three most effective technologies (in increasing order of effectiveness) are low NOx burners,
Selective Non-catalytic reduction (SNCR), and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR).
The latter two technologies rely on the injection of ammonia into the flue gas stream,
converting NOx into nitrogen and water, thereby reducing stack emissions.
GC³ provides bulk deliveries of aqua ammonia (ammonium hydroxide) in any concentration up to 29%
for SNCR and SCR NOx emissions reduction. All of our aqua ammonia is manufactured with deionized
water so our product meets the strictest quality requirements of SCR and catalyst manufacturers.
SOx reduction
Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) units in coal power plants are designed to reduce sulfur oxide (Primarily SO2) stack emissions, which can have a harmful effect on the environment. Wet limestone scrubbers use a slurry of limestone (CaCO3) to scrub SOx from the flue gas, converting it into calcium sulfite (CaSO3) and water.
GC³
offers additives for wet limestone FGD scrubbers that can improve scrubber efficiency while reducing scale buildup and extending run times. For regions where dibasic acid is in short supply, we offer alternative Formic based products which have proven to be very economical. Contact us for details.
